This module introduces students to the core principles of storytelling and narrative design. Students learn to analyse how stories are constructed by exploring key elements such as structure, character, conflict, and theme, and how these components combine to create emotional and intellectual impact.
They learn to critique and refine narratives while examining how storytelling reflects human thought, perception, and lived experience.
Building on this foundation, students explore how storytelling principles extend across media — including film, games, interactive experiences, and visual communication — gaining insight into how narrative design shapes meaning, engagement, and creative expression across disciplines.
