Service-Learning

As a creative school with a heart, we strive not just for personal career advancements, but also to give back to the community. Besides teaching students the skillsets of workable design, we encourage our students to use what they have learnt for humanitarian efforts. Our overseas trips always include a visit to see the other side of the country.

Project Euphoria in Cambodia 2015

Students from STA took part in the ISPL programme called Project Euphoria in Cambodia where they embarked on a 7-day journey meeting the kids from Kamphleung Primary School. They volunteered themselves in cleaning and painting the school despite the tough humid condition.

The local students were also taught simple English vocabs such as numbers, days of the week, and animals. The lesson went smoothly with the help of the local teachers there which made the class more engaging.

KL International Art Festival 2017

DMR Productions (DMR) and Global Cultural Alliance (GCA) invited students from Diploma in Arts & Theatre Management (DATM) to collaborate on a production for children with special needs in which five cast and five crew members were then sponsored to stage a show at the CausewayEXchange festival in Kuala Lumpur.

The show had been tailored to be interactive and provided a safe and sensory friendly environment, in the hope of increasing access and inclusion for children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders and other disabilities with sensory sensitivities.
