This module introduces students to the fundamentals of audio technology by building competencies in audio recording, editing and mixing. Students learn about the physics of sound and the difference between analogue audio and digital audio. In addition, students learn how to use microphones including the essential concepts of signal flow. Throughout the module, students will experience using various types of professional audio tools in creative projects, such as recording dialogue in outdoor and indoor locations, editing sound clips, and creating unique audio-driven content. In this module, students are involved in hands-on practical work and gain experience by applying these skills to various media projects.
