I got to learn many diverse skills during the course of my internship. I was posted to many different departments, including the lab where I ran blood samples of dolphins and learned to differentiate cells and look for pathogens under the microscope. When posted to the curatorial team, I got to carry out husbandry work and learned how to identify and feed many different kinds of aquatic life from sharks to stingrays and even small fish. It was an enriching experience and one I’ll remember forever.
My internship experience in Australia was amazing. My placement with the University of Technology Sydney granted me valuable exposure to the different research methodologies used by laboratories around the world. I also had a wonderful time with my friends exploring the sights and culture of Sydney! Thank you, RP!
I got to spend my internship in New Zealand for 20 weeks. It was packed with valuable learning experiences as well as insights into working and living in a culture very different from Singapore. I learned a lot about the science of baking while working on food development projects and conducting sensory evaluations. I also had to learn how to plan my day carefully to ensure my projects got finished on time. The internship instilled in me a new level of independence and gave me greater exposure to other cultures around the world.
Fong Chong has demonstrated high levels of accuracy and work productivity during his internship with us. He takes pride in his work and continuously strives to improve upon his work performance. He is always cordial and willing to help co-workers. Although the assigned project has little relevancy to his studies, Fong Chong is adapting to new systems and processes well. He has requested for training to enhance his knowledge and abilities to ensure the objective of this project is met.
Benjamin provided great support to his team members in the dicing process while on internship here, and was highly motivated all the time. He demonstrated a high level of positive interest in the work assigned, showed a strong willingness to learn, and often delivered beyond expectations. Benjamin is an excellent team player, contributing constructively to the team and promoting cohesiveness and good morale. He is respectful to colleagues and his supervisors, and does his share of the work, even working overtime to support the production line during the absence of his team member. He was able to give great support to the production team when they ask. If I were in the position to make a hiring recommendation, I would favourably consider Benjamin as a permanent member of staff. A great job from him!
