On 27 September 2022, School of Infocomm and Palo Alto Networks came together to commemorate the completion of the re-branded RP-Palo Alto Networks Cyber Security Lab, and to celebrate RP receiving the Authorized Regional Cybersecurity Academy status

RP is the only Institute of Higher Learning in Singapore to be approved as a Palo Alto Networks Regional Cyber Academy.

The lab facility has provided students from Diploma in Infocomm Security Management an authentic learning experience, and to equip them with the necessary skills to configure, troubleshoot and monitor network appliances as part of enterprise network security. Students have also learnt to configure advanced firewall features including application and content control as well as Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. This has helped to prepare students to secure enterprise’s networks and apply defense in depth principle, which is fundamental when they join the workforce.

With the onward looking of deepening collaborations, there will be plans to offer short-courses related to enterprise cyber security by tapping onto Palo Alto Networks’ industry-based curriculum and expertise.

We look forward to furthering more collaborations with Palo Alto Networks, to train and upskill the next-generation of cybersecurity professionals.
