Edusave Awards

Ministry of Education (MOE) established the Education Endowment Fund Scheme, commonly known as the Edusave Scheme, in January 1993, to maximise and equalise educational opportunities for all Singaporeans, enhance the quality of education in Singapore and motivate students to excel academically.

The Edusave awards, funded by the Education Endowment Fund, are given out yearly to students who have achieved excellence in academic and non-academic areas through the Edusave awards listed below.

a) Academic Performance:

Edusave Merit Bursary (EMB)

Edusave Merit Bursary (EMB) is one of the Edusave awards given out yearly to students who have achieved excellence in academic areas. For more information, please click here.

Eligibility 
  • Singapore Citizen
  • Full-time Diploma student or Polytechnic Foundation Programme# student
  • Top 25% of each level & course
  • GHI ≤ $7,500, or PCI ≤ $1,875
  • Good conduct*

(#) Polytechnic Foundation Programme – Top 25% of Science & Technology (S&T) courses and Top 25% of Non-S&T courses.
(*)  Good conduct – No Level 2 and/or 3 disciplinary offences committed during the last two academic years of studies in RP.

Value of Award
Edusave Merit Bursary is valued at $500 per academic year.

Edusave Good Progress Award (GPA)

Edusave Good Progress Award (GPA) is one of the Edusave awards given out yearly to students who have improved their academic grades. For more information, please click here

Eligibility 
  • Singapore Citizen
  • Full-time Diploma student in second or third year of study
  • Top 10% of each level & course, based on good progress (improvement)
  • Good conduct*
  • Must not be in receipt of the Edusave Merit Bursary

(*) Good conduct – No Level 2 and/or 3 disciplinary offences committed during the last two academic years of studies in RP.

Value of Award 
Edusave Good Progress Award is valued at $400 per academic year.

b) Demonstration of professional and soft skills:

Edusave Skills Award (ESA)

Edusave Skills Award (ESA) is one of the Edusave awards given out yearly to students who have demonstrated excellent professional and soft skills throughout their course of study, based on their performance in curriculum components and/or achievements in competitions, conferences or other platforms that require the application of course-specific skills. For more information, please click here.  

Eligibility 

  • Singapore Citizen
  • Full-time Diploma student in final year of study
  • Up to 10% of Singapore Citizens from each course in the graduating cohort
  • Nominated by School
  • Grade Point Average (GPA) ≥ 2.0
  • Demonstrated mastery of course-specific skills as well as soft skills in areas relevant to their course of study, based on performance during internships and Final Year Projects, or achievements at other platforms such as competitions, conferences and skills-related service learning projects
  • Good conduct*

(*)  Good conduct – No Level 2 and/or 3 disciplinary offences committed during the last two academic years of studies in RP.

Edusave Skills Award is valued at $500 per academic year.

Calculation Per Capita Income (PCI) 
PCI = Total Gross Monthly Household Income (GHI) ÷ Number of Family Members in the Household (including student)

Note: 
No application is needed. Students will be nominated by RP based on merit and skills.
