By invite only: Apply for AY2026 Laptop Assistance from May to Dec 2026

If you are a newly enrolled student and eligible for the laptop assistance scheme based on your bursary application outcome, you'll receive an email via your RP account at a later date with details on how to apply.

The RP Laptop Assistance scheme offers a one-time subsidy of up to $1,200 per candidature to eligible Singapore Citizen students for laptop purchase.

The support is a reimbursement scheme, so you’ll need to buy a laptop first, then submit your receipt. Make sure the model you buy meets the minimum technical specs for your diploma and avoid overspending on unnecessary features.

To ensure a smooth process, you’re encouraged to apply for a bursary during Semester 1 (Apr) so you can submit your laptop receipt for reimbursement promptly.

Eligibility Criteria

You'll need to meet these requirements to apply.

Be a Singaporean PFP or first-year full-time student

You must also be subsidised under the MOE Tuition Grant.

Be awarded a government-funded bursary for the current academic year

The qualifying tiers are: DFP Bursary, HECB Tier 1 and HECB Tier 2.

Have not received RP laptop assistance before.

Exceptions apply on a case-by-case basis.

  • Higher Education Community Bursary Tier 1 (HECB Tier 1)

Gross Per Capita Income (PCI) ≤ $1,375 or
Gross Household Income (GHI) ≤ $5,500

*If you're a PFP student who didn’t receive the DFP Bursary, but your household was assessed by HOMES to have a Gross Household Income (GHI) of $5,500 or below or Per Capita Income (PCI) of $1,375 or below, you’ll still be eligible for the scheme.

How to apply

  • Your first step is to apply for a government-funded bursary (For more information on bursary). RP will use the bursary outcome to assess your eligibility for laptop support.

  • After your bursary application has been processed, eligible Year 1 and PFP students will receive an email within one month of the outcome with details on how to apply for laptop assistance.

  • Eligible Year 1 and PFP students will receive a link to apply for laptop assistance and upload their purchase receipt.

Note: You may purchase your laptop before receiving your bursary outcome, but do keep in mind that your eligibility for laptop assistance is based on your income assessment from the bursary application.

  1. When you buy your laptop, ensure the purchase is made under your name. Receipts issued under someone else's name, such as a parent or guardian, will not be accepted. Ask the vendor to print your full name on the receipt, as this is required for reimbursement.

  2. Only Windows-based laptops are eligible for reimbursement. You will not be reimbursed for any accessories or the following devices: 

    • Macbook

    • Desktops

    • Tablets such as iPads and Samsung Tabs

    • Laptops with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors

    • Non-Windows devices such as Chromebook

  3. You can purchase your laptop from any of the following: 

    • Any local PC retail shop

    • Any local online supplier 

    • One of RP's appointed vendors (Under "Purchase a Laptop" tab - Click here) 

  4. Laptops bought from community marketplaces or classified platforms (e.g. Carousell, Gumtree, Locanto) will not be accepted.

  5. Please refer to the laptop requirements for your respective course.

  1. Once you've received your bursary outcome and been confirmed as eligible, your next step is to submit a clear, scanned copy of your purchase receipt (all pages) through the FAST portal. The guide for submitting your receipt will be included in the email invite for laptop assistance.

  2. Make sure your company-issued receipt (with logo) meets all the following requirements:

    • Issued in your full name, exactly as shown in your RP enrolment letter

    • Stated in Singapore Dollars (SGD)

    • Dated within Academic Year 2026 (from Feb 2026 onwards)

    • Includes the laptop model and specifications

      *Receipts that don’t meet these requirements won’t be accepted. Order confirmation slips are also not allowed. If you’re buying your laptop online, make sure it’s delivered to you before you submit your claim.

  3. Once approved, the reimbursed amount will be credited to your GIRO or PayNow account registered with RP, typically about three months after you’ve submitted the receipt or invoice.

  4. Ensure you’ve submitted your GIRO or PayNow details—if not, your reimbursement will be delayed.
