The Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) is a one-year programme that offers a practice-oriented curriculum to better prepare you for a polytechnic education. What's more, the PFP serves as an alternative route for you to gain direct entry into Republic Polytechnic! Instead of preparing for your GCE 'O' Levels, you can use that time to get a head start in your RP journey and prepare yourself for your chosen diploma.
You qualify for PFP Admissions Exercise (PFPAE) 2022 if you are a Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) student who has attained an ELMAB3 (English Language, Mathematics, Best 3 other subjects) aggregate score of 12 points or better, excluding CCA Bonus Points based on the following: Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'N(A)' Level results of 2021 - Or - Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'N(A)' Level results of 2021 and Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level results of 2021. Note: If you have sat for the same subjects in the GCE 'O' Level examinations and your GCE 'N(A)' Level examinations, only the better grade will be computed towards your ELMAB3 aggregate to determine your eligibility. Please refer to the grade conversion table for computation of your ELMAB3 aggregate. Find Out More

Application Tips
If you are eligible for the PFPAE, your school will issue you a Form P. You can then apply through PFPAE Portal tentatively in January 2022. PFP results will be released tentatively in January 2022. The acceptance phase and centralised appeals will be carried out in January 2022 as well. The PFP appeal posting outcomes will be released tentatively in February 2022. If your application is successful, you will be required to indicate acceptance of the posting within three working days of the posting results via the PFPAE Portal. Once accepted, you will be withdrawn from Secondary 5. Upon receiving the PFPAE posting results, if you want to appeal for a change of course, you may submit an online appeal through the PFPAE Portal. You do not need to submit a separate appeal to the individual polytechnics. As a successful candidate you are required to take part in the 1-year corresponding Foundation Programme for the diploma that you have been offered a provisional place in. The programme will commence in April.
