Nur Arianti Amalina Roslan Learning and Development Manager, Lego Land Malaysia Diploma in Human Resource Management with Psychology Graduate Nur Arianti Amalina Roslan recently moved from Singapore to join Lego Land Malaysia as a Learning and Development (L&D) Manager. “RP’s problem-based learning creates an environment for quick thinking and collaboration, which prepared me to adapt quickly to work environments, different working styles of people. Also, moving to Johor was a huge change for me, but my six-month overseas internship in Jakarta helped me greatly due to the similar challenges I once faced and now overcame.” Nur Arianti's journey demonstrates how RP's strong industry partnerships, both locally and overseas, help equip students with the necessary problem-solving skills needed to meet real-world challenges. Kevin Brendan Performing Artist, So Drama! Entertainment, Music and Drama Company Diploma in Mass Communication Graduate From being a full-time National Serviceman with the Music and Drama Company to a professional artiste, Kevin Brendan is no stranger to the National Day Parade (NDP). The RP School of Management and Communication alumnus's passion for performance saw him participating in the NDP thrice -- first as an RP performer in 2015, then as a stand-in for NDP 2019, and most recently in 2023 as a singer. Kevin has 18 years of experience in performing arts. His passion for the stage was nurtured through singing in church and schools. Expressing his gratitude to RP CREATE Club and Rhapsody for shaping him into the artiste he is today, Kevin said: “Being part of these interest groups allowed me to meet leaders, peers, and coaches who inspired, guided and believed in me. I will continue to learn and be better, and I hope that I will do them proud." Kevin appeared in Act One of National Day Parade 2023 and glided onto the Padang with other artistes on giant “origami boats” that represented various cultures arriving on Singapore's shores.
Nur Ihshana and Ashwini Jayasankar Interned at the Singapore Police Force Diploma in Mass Communication Students Nur Ihshana and Ashwini Jayasankar, final year students from RP Diploma in Mass Communication, just wrapped up their internship with the Singapore Police Force (SPF). They were part of the team running Police Life, SPF’s online magazine that spotlights inspiring stories about officers, partners, and the community. Both Ihshana and Ashwini described their internship as incredibly fulfilling. Ashwini honed her creative voice and writing styles, while working on inspiring stories of various police officers and units. She also cherished the chance to participate in photoshoots and media features, learning from colleagues who generously shared their expertise, including how to master the nuances of photography. “My 24 weeks as a Police Life intern was an invaluable learning journey! I got to apply everything I’ve learnt – from photography to writing and editing – to my articles. This experience has kindled my passion for journalism”
Wong Sokwei Co-founder, Suskin, The Sustainable Leather Co. Diploma in Consumer Behaviour & Research Graduate Meet Wong Sokwei, a dedicated advocate for sustainability and a rising star in the world of entrepreneurship. Sokwei's insatiable curiosity led her to explore the psychology of consumer choices. It also inspired her to pursue a Diploma in Consumer Behaviour & Research at RP and subsequently a Bachelor of Business Administration at the National University of Singapore. An unwavering sustainability advocate, Sokwei co-founded Suskin, The Sustainable Leather Co., offering a green alternative to traditional leather. Her venture has piqued the interest of industry giants like Bynd Artisan and Bushwick Kombucha. Sokwei has achieved remarkable success, winning prestigious awards, including the People's Choice Award and Overall Champion in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Competition, as well as the Best Innovation Award and Second Runner-Up in the iDARE Entrepreneurial Challenge. Her accomplishments have garnered attention from media outlets such as Mothership, LianHe ZaoBao, MONEYFM 89.3, Asia One, and Samsung's YouTube Channel. Beyond her entrepreneurial pursuits, Sokwei actively volunteers with the Women's Integration Network Council and serves as a Youth Corps Leader, offering mentorship and guidance. Her passion for sustainability drives her involvement in ad-hoc events within the environment cluster at Youth Corps Singapore.
Cindy Soh Founder, WanderersSG Diploma in Business Graduate At age three, Cindy Soh was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Morquio Syndrome (MPS IV). Despite her condition, Cindy enrolled into the Diploma in Business offered by RP School of Management and Communication because she was determined to become an entrepreneur. In particular, she wanted to address urgent societal issues by drawing from her own experiences. Upon her graduation, Cindy founded WanderersSG, an organisation dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities to overcome limitations. She attributes her accomplishments today to RP, highlighting how the inclusive campus culture and environment allowed her to be self-reliant. She also leveraged unique platforms such as the i-Developing Aspiring Ready Entrepreneurs (iDARE) Entrepreneurial Challenge to cultivate a mindset of innovation, approach issues from a business standpoint, and think outside the box. Cindy’s journey encourages us to “embrace challenges head-on and transform negatives into positives”. Her ethic of “having the ability to solve issues for people and make lives easier” is inspiring.
