3D Printing and Modelling - 2 days

Learn to give (physical) form to your ideas!

This two-day course provides participants an overview of how 3D printing works, starting with the creation of 3D Models.  Using solid modelling freeware and applying 3D scanning techniques, participants will also learn how to produce physical models with 3D printers.

The possibilities are only limited by imagination!

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • appreciate different sources of 3DP files, and the hardware and software required
  • practise various 3DP File Preparation Techniques, including CAD, 3D scanning and 3D Photogrammetry.
  • understand how to edit STL files downloaded from 3DP online libraries
  • appreciate 3D printing and modelling, including their roles in Reverse Engineering and figurine making

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for business professionals and individuals who are keen to learn how to use 3D printers.


Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 80% of the attendance requirement.
