Through this course, you will learn about the characteristics of ICT-Enhanced Teaching and Learning (IETL) such as the modes of delivery and types of interactions. You will be introduced to instructional design models such as Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS) 5E Model and Gilly Salmon’s Five-Stage Model for Online Learning. The course will also explore how digital tools can be used to enhance teaching and learning based on sound pedagogical principles. There will be opportunities for you to apply the concepts learnt by designing an effective and engaging online lesson.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to
- Explain how BSCS 5E and Gilly Salmon Five-Stage models can be used to design effective online lessons
- Explain how digital tools can be leveraged to increase the engagement level of online lessons
- Design an online lesson plan using one of the instructional design models
