Managing Service Quality in Hotels

This module will provide an insight to the key operating departments within the hotel. Students will be exposed to the different processes that are in place, and analyse performance measures to determine how guests are being served at the hotel. Students will be able to apply their knowledge about the concepts of operational brand standards of a chain hotel, and examine how these standards can be used to improve the competitiveness of the hotel.

Managing Service Quality in Hotels is a module selected from the Specialist Diploma in Hospitality Business Management. It enables participants to acquire new skills or deepen relevant skills without the need to pursue a full specialist diploma. As this is a stackable course, participants may choose to complete the remaining modules within the validity period, of 2 years, to be awarded the full Specialist Diploma qualification.

Entry Requirement

Applicants should possess one of the following combinations of qualification and work experience:

  • Hospitality-related Diploma from any of the 5 local Polytechnics in Singapore
  • Degree in Business or Hospitality from recognized institutions with at least 2 years of relevant working experience.

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience and/or supporting evidence of competency readiness. 

Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.

Republic Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

Certification

Participants will be awarded the Certificate in Managing Service Quality in Hotels by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 50% of the attendance requirement and passing all coursework and assessment.
