Republic Polytechnic Dikir Barat (DKRP) has been active and dynamic in the local Dikir Barat scene with numerous achievements in both tertiary and national competitions since 2007.

DKRP comprises of two teams – Endang Ratiana and Wira, where Endang Ratiana was the first all-girls team amongst the tertiary institutions that was formed in 2007, and Wira, the all-boys team was formed in 2011 by six passionate individuals.

In 2014, Endang Ratiana participated and qualified into the finals of the prestigious Mega Perdana. In 2010, they managed to clinch 3rd in Piala Suara Serumpun and subsequently, the runner-up position in 2016 and 2019. They also managed to come in 2nd for Piala Seni Dikir in 2019.

Wira, too, progressed significantly in performance standards, clinching awards at various competitions. In 2012, Wira came in 4th for their first Piala Suara Serumpun and subsequently clinched the Overall Champions in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Apart from their annual involvement in competitions, DKRP has participated in many RP-wide events such as Open House, Reflections Arts Festival and other community happenings. Taking pride in the camaraderie they have built over the years, DKRP also organises internal events such as Welcome Tea and also Hari Raya outings to keep the fire going.
