Gamelan Naga Kencana (GNK) which means ‘golden dragon’ is the only gamelan ensemble among the tertiary institutions in Singapore.

The interest group has been honoured to be under the tutelage of Mr Amran Ahmad Sowyan, an experienced Gamelan instructor and a pioneer member of Gamelan Asmaradana since its inception in 2007. GNK has performed in various events such as Republic Polytechnic’s Open House, Reflections Arts Festival, Gamelan Circle at Malay Heritage Centre as well as collaborated with renowned performing groups such as Nadi Singapura, Gamelan Asmaradana and Singapore Gamelan SingaMurti.
