Republic Polytechnic Wind Symphony (RPWS) was formed in 2003. The band provides an opportunity for any musician to enjoy music-making through musical exploration.

RPWS has gained recognition for their fine musicianship in both the local and international stage. Apart from performing at concerts, the band actively takes part in the Singapore International Band Festival (SIBF) organised biennially and the annual Chiayi City International Band Festival in Taiwan. The band has clinched several awards in SIBF; Silver (Division 1) in 2008, Silver (Open Division) in 2010 and Bronze (Open Division) in 2012 and 2014. In 2016, RPWS clinched the Silver (Division 1) award.

The members had been very privileged to work with the Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra, National Chiayi University Wind Ensemble from Taiwan, Jugendmusik Kreuzlingen from Switzerland, Singapore Police Force Band as well as the Singapore Armed Forces Central Band in the past.

Under renowned conductor Mr Muhamad Yusri, RPWS strives to be the stimulus for musical excellence among the school bands in Singapore. It’s this spirit that motivates the band to train hard and bring quality music to the community.
