Mr Jason YapSenior Lecturer, School of Engineering (SEG)
From launching RP's first drone soccer team to securing overseas drone permits for overseas deployment and driving cross-departmental automation, Jason's contributions reflect innovation, agility, and resilience, overcoming challenges in both language and logistics.
Dr May SimSenior Lecturer (Industry), School of Applied Science (SAS)
Acknowledged for her groundbreaking research in food waste management, transforming discarded materials into eco-friendly, scalable solutions. Her innovative valorisation techniques and unwavering commitment to sustainability have made a tangible environmental impact.
Dr Heng Kiang SoonSenior Lecturer, School of Applied Science (SAS)
Spearheads Singapore's okara waste valorisation research, enabling full upcycling of this by-product. With four commercialised Intellectual Properties, extensive media outreach, and award-winning translation research, Dr Heng champions food sustainability through science communication and education.
Dr Shubha VijConexus Senior Manager, School of Applied Science (SAS)
Advancing sustainable aquaculture through cutting-edge genomic solutions. Her research strengthens local fingerling production and reduces reliance on imports. In addition to her scientific achievements, she has trained over 50 students, supported local SMEs, and earned national recognition for her work.
Mr Jason YapSenior Lecturer, School of Hospitality (SOH)
Champions Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality in hospitality. In 2023, he helped travel agencies digitalise routine operations using AI-avatar videos, reducing manpower needs. Jason also mentors peers and drives digital upskilling initiatives, positioning RP SOH as a leader in hospitality tech adoption.
Mr Tzang Merwyn TongSenior Lecturer, School of Technology for Arts, Media and Design (STA)
Leads initiatives that use storytelling to enhance learning, cross-cultural exchange, and engage diverse audience. His First Shot(s) X-Change programme connected students across four countries through collaborative filmmaking, while his Storytelling for User Research masterclass equipped public officers and professionals with empathy-driven research skills. His work also supports mental wellness and lifelong learning through creative outreach.
