Within the laboratory setting, workplace safety and health issues are viewed in relation to the BizSAFE Level 2 framework.
In this module, the perspectives will focus on the motivation, skills and practices within the scientific industry, and examine compliance to national standards and regulatory bodies.
Aspects of basic resource management, total quality management, good laboratory practices (GLPs) and good documentation practices (ISO standards) will be covered. Students will also be taught the fundamentals of laboratory information systems, laboratory safety, reference laboratory services, scientific proposal and report writing.
