The module introduces the concepts of Business Analytics, structured data, data mining including its methodology. The concept and applications of Big Data Analytics will also be covered. A key focus for students will be predictive analytics, used in the analysis of structured data. Different statistical models, including regression, decision and neural models will be discussed in detail, and students will be taught how to assess and identify the most suitable model for specific uses. In addition, students will learn the importance of data quality and apply appropriate data cleansing and transformation techniques to prepare data for analysis.
