This module introduces the various healthcare financing schemes to the students. They will learn about the various sources of healthcare funding; national healthcare financing schemes, means-testing in acute and the community care settings, modes of payment, debt management and conduct of financial counselling. The students will be introduced to various healthcare financing policies and interventions such as Interim Disability Assistance Programme for the Elderly (IDAPE), Elder Shield, Care Shield Life, means-testing deviation, charity dollars, Medisave, and Medi Fund.
