This module teaches students how to apply elements and principles of design to create original logos and posters. The module introduces students to basic concepts of typography and colour theory. By analysing case studies, students learn to critique, and improve existing designs. Additionally, students will gain an understanding of the intention of each design decision made, and learn to justify their own design work and to pitch their work to potential clients. By the end of the module students will be proficient in the use of software design tools for editing bitmap and vector graphics, and be able to produce original visual designs based on a given industry brief.
