Learner-centred and social constructivist philosophies should be reflected in the assessment practises of Problem-based Learning (PBL). As a result, PBL frequently makes use of observational assessment, in which the assessor watches the learners' actions and verbal output, and grades their performance. Verbal and written feedback are used to identify a learner's areas of strength and weakness, and to offer suggestions for enhancing performance. At Republic Polytechnic, we provide workshops that support PBL assessment as well as the chance for you to study and use sound techniques that are supported by research, resulting in high-quality assessment design and delivery.
