External Scholarships

The external scholarships are administered by the sponsoring organisation. Republic Polytechnic (RP) students can consider applying for these scholarships. The list of external scholarships is not limited to the scholarships mentioned below and the information from the sponsoring organisations may change from time to time. Students who are interested in these external scholarships are advised to check the sponsors' websites for the updated information, or their RP email account regularly for updates on the latest scholarships.

DSTA Polytechnic Digital Scholarship

Quantum and Tenure of Scholarship For DSTA scholars studying in Singapore:
  • Tuition and compulsory fees
  • Annual and other allowances e.g. books, computer
  • Sponsorship for Overseas Student Exchange Programme
  • Sporsorship for studies, inclusive of Master's if applicable
  • Internship Opportunity
  • Global Internship Programme
  • Four years of service commitment 
For DSTA scholars studying in overseas universities:
  • Tuition and compulsory fees
  • Overseas maintenance and other allowances e.g. books, computer
  • Return economy airfare
  • Sponsorship for Overseas Student Exchange Programme
  • Sporsorship for studies, inclusive of Master's if applicable
  • Internship Opportunity
  • Global Internship Programme
  • Six years of service commitment (English speaking countries)
  • Five years of service commitment (Non-English speaking countries)

HOME Team Diploma Sponsorship

Eligibility Criteria
  • Singapore Citizen
  • Good 'O' Level/NITEC/Higher NITEC/ Diploma results
  • Medically and physically fit, with at least a 'pass' in NAPFA
  • Interested in meaningful non-deskbound work and enjoy working with people 
Quantum There are 2 award tiers to the Home Team Diploma Sponsorship:
The Home Team Diploma (Merit) Sponsorship includes:
  • Payment of tuition fees and other approved academic charges
  • Allowance of S$1,300 per month or a total of $15,600 per year
  • Study bonus of S$1,200 per semester if the student passes all modules in that semester 

The Home Team Diploma (Study) Sponsorship includes:
  • Payment of tuition fees and other academic charges
  • Allowance of S$1,000 per month or a total of $12,000 per year
  • Study bonus of $1,200 per semester if the student passes all modules in that semester
 Condition  Sponsorship recepients will serve a 4-year bond with the Home Team upon the completion of studies.

SAF Young Leader Award

Eligibility Criteria
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident intending to take up citizenship
  • Year 1 and 2 students from RP
  • Demonstrate academic excellence
  • Display strong leadership qualities through CCA
  • Passionate about defence-related issues
Quantum
  • S$2,500 cash award 
  • Internship opportunities with MINDEF/SAF
  • Exclusive opportunities to attend MINDEF/SAF functions, scholarship talks and engagement activites to understand the career prospects in MINDEF/SAF
  • A scholarship interview* for overseas studies upon application

    *Male recipients need to be enlisted into SAF in order to be considered for military scholarships

SM Jaleel Foundation – Education Trust Fund Assistance Scheme (Scholarship)


Eligibility Criteria  
  • Muslim Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution.
  • Household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$750 and below
  • Obtained outstanding results

SAWL Scholarship Fund

Eligibility Criteria
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Physically/intellectually disabled (including one who is from any approved charity as defined under the Income Tax Act (Chapter 134) or any society duly registered under the Societies Act (Chapter 311)), who is in need of financial assistance

Yayasan Mendaki - Merchant Scholarship (Year 1 Student only)

Eligibility Criteria
  • Muslim Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident (regardless of race) who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution.
  • Outstanding results in:
    • Singapore Cambridge GCE ‘O’ examinations, preferably with 3 distinctions; or
    • ­NITEC Higher NITEC with cumulative GPA score of 3.5 and above
  • Good records of active participation in CCA
  • Student from low-income family will be given priority
  • The scholarship is disbursed yearly for the whole duration of the course of study, subject to satisfactory performance of the scholar.
  • No bond is required but recipients will be required to complete one community project via MENDAKI.
Quantum
  • 100% of the tuition fee and/or S$1,000 as living allowance per annum
  • Duration of the scholarship is up to a minimum period of study leading to a diploma or maximum of 3 years, whichever is lower.

Yayasan Mendaki Scholarship (Year 1 Students only)

Eligibility Criteria
  • Muslim Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution.
  • Enrolled in first year of study
  • Outstanding results in:
    • Singapore Cambridge GCE ‘O’ examinations, preferably with 3 distinctions; or
    • ­NITEC Higher NITEC with cumulative GPA score of 3.5 and above
  • Good records of active participation in CCA
  • The scholarship is disbursed yearly for the duration of the course of study subject to satisfactory performance of the scholar.
  • No bond is required but recipients will be required to complete one community project via MENDAKI.
Quantum S$2,000
