This module seeks to address people with different
disabilities and other forms of medical conditions with
adaptive strategies to be included in the community.
Students will learn about the varying recreational
needs of targeted populations from a biological, motor
developmental and psycho-sociological viewpoint. This
will help students to adapt activities to help the targeted
population to improve their recreation and daily life skills.
Students will also understand the need to have inclusion,
assess the health and motor skills before implementing
and adapting activities to suit the needs of various
groups of disabilities. Students will learn the importance
and benefits of inclusive physical activity programming
for targeted populations, and be aware of sensitivities
associated with the programme management of targeted
