Students completing the module would be able to apply theoretical evidence-based exercise science knowledge as rationale for technical skills of an exercise specialist. This module provides opportunities for students to practise technical skills including real-time decision-making to ensure the safe conduct of pre-participation screening, assessment, exercise prescription and instruction of health-related fitness components such as body composition, flexibility, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and muscular endurance for the normal population. In addition, students would exposed to postural and balance assessment, use of industry-related tools and equipment, as well as be able to provide specific intervention to target an individual’s health and performance goals
