This module equips students to translate evidence-based exercise-science principles into the technical competencies required of an exercise specialist in professional practice. Students will gain practical experience conducting preparticipation screening, assessment, exercise prescription, and exercise instruction across health-related fitness components, including body composition, flexibility, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength, and muscular endurance. Students will also learn postural and balance assessment techniques, and the operation of industry-standard tools and equipment. Emphasis is placed on real-time decision-making to ensure safety, efficacy and individualisation of exercise programming and assessment for the general population, based on clients’ health status and performance goals.
