This module introduces the concepts of game sound, emphasising its role in storytelling, gameplay, and immersive experiences. Students will learn to create dynamic audio environments that respond to in-game actions, making sound an integral part of the player’s experience. Through practical projects, students will master the art of Foley recording, ambient audio and adaptive music composition to enhance realism and player engagement. They will perform audio integration by implementing audio assets via middleware such as Wwise or FMOD into popular game engines like Unreal or Unity. Students will also learn the importance of audio testing and quality assurance in game development.
