SYMBIOSIS is an annual graduate showcase of selected works across the five diplomas from RP’s School of Technology for the Arts:

  • Diploma in Arts & Theatre Management 

  • Diploma in Design for Games and Gamification

Momentum Dance Festival

Held annually in May, Momentum aims to encourage creativity in dance and promote original works of various dance genres. Gathering the best of the dance groups from local schools and institutions of higher learning, the festival provides the canvas for RP dancers and other schools to explore and showcase the myriad of dance genres in the vibrant world of dance.

This instalment will see the return of LEAPS! A Young Choreographer’s Showcase, RPresenting to the Fullest 15 competition, dance workshops, mass workshops, and sharing sessions, culminating in the main showcase on 26 and 27 May.

IGNITE! Music Festival 2023

IGNITE! Music Festival is a student-driven, annual music festival that showcases up-and-coming as well as veteran talents and musicians in the local music industry.

With workshops, fringe events and collaborations with the service-learning community, IGNITE! promotes social grace and compassion to the accompanying beat of free and good music.

As one of the biggest local music festivals, the event has seen Industry greats such as M1LDL1FE, Jasmine Sokko, Linying, Caracal, Fariz Jabba & Yung Raja and more grace the Festival stage and have reached out to more than 10K audiences each year.

Reflections Arts Festival 2023

Reflections, RP’s Community Arts Festival, is a month-long festival of music, dance, theatre, and visual arts where local talents are provided with the environment to encourage creative expression in the various art forms.

The Festival has played host to professional artistic partners such as Act 3 Theatrics, Nadi Singapura, Hossan Leong, Jeremy Monteiro, Micappella, Moonshadow Stories, and promises something for everyone.

The iTourism Challenge invites youths to put forward ideas to reimagine the Singapore tourism landscape, which has been affected by COVID-19. Changes to preferences, evolution of interests, as well as future challenges of manpower and sustainability make this an imperative for Singapore.

This fun challenge gives the opportunity to students, especially those interested in a career in the tourism and hospitality sectors, to pitch your vision of the future Singapore tourism landscape to representatives from the Singapore Tourism Board!

Experience the “Risk” in handling projects like organising a birthday party or a BBQ in a fun and engaging way – through playing a board game!

Participants will be introduced to different phases of a project and be exposed to a variety of project risks that could exist. Winning the game will depend on the team’s risk strategies, judgment, and luck.

This workshop will also allow you to understand the importance of communication and negotiation in managing and executing projects.

Future Trends in Business Operations and Supply Chain Management

Have you always wondered how your vaccines are tracked and transported? Or how businesses can leverage digitalisation to make their operations more efficient? These are all part of using Internet of Things (IoT) in cold chain, supply chain, and business operations.

This module will teach aspiring entrepreneurs and technopreneurs how to manage their own business operations and supply chain.

Course outcomes:

  • Discuss and explain useful business management practices and IoT technologies to optimise resources, reduce wastes, and improve productivity, efficiency, and traceability.
  • Utilise IoT technology in cold chain management of temperature sensitive product (e.g., vaccines)

Augmented reality (AR) has now become part of many popular social media platforms. Most social media users would have seen AR filters, used in "stories" on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

These AR filters not only make things more interesting and enjoyable, they can also help increase brand recognition by stirring up emotions and creating unique experiences that captivate your audience.

Participants will have fun learning how to make AR filters using a beginner friendly tool, Spark AR Studio. At the end, you will have the knowledge and expertise to create and publish AR filters that are suitable for use on social media!

Are you having to deal with many changes in your teenage life – physically, socially and mentally? You are not alone!

Find out how you can manage these changes and challenges by learning to be a Health Coach. As a Health Coach you will learn to be nutritionally savvy, create physical activity routines as part of your daily life, and maintain your personal mental wellness and other aspects of health. You can also share and promote these insights to help your peers and build a stronger and healthier peer group among friends. Be an advocate for healthier lifestyles!

These skills will set you up for work experiences in the health sector. This knowledge will also be useful to help you maintain good mental and physical health as you journey through your teenage life towards adulthood.

Mindfulness Competition

Overcome stress by being mindful! In this workshop, we will teach you ways to cope with stress from school, home, and friends. 

Participants will have a chance to try mindfulness in a class setting. Mindfulness is when you pay attention to what's going on around you, and not overreact.

When you practise mindfulness, you can benefit from: 

  • Not thinking too much about the same thing over and over 

  • Feeling less stress 

  • Remembering things better 

  • Staying focused

Service-Learning

Facilitating Youth Development through Service-learning

Service-learning is a teaching approach to develop youths by engaging them in meaningful service with the communities. Through purposeful engagements, youths will also get to apply their academic skills and knowledge to address community’s needs.

This course provides an in-depth view of service-learning and the tools to facilitate service-learning projects. Participants will be equipped with the competencies to plan and execute service-learning projects.

Course outcomes:

  • Understand service-learning and the core components of planning it, as well as implementing a quality service-learning project
  • Identify the different stages, tasks, and roles needed to complete a service-learning project
  • Understand the importance of reflection throughout the service-learning project
