Learning Objectives
At the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Describe the various cloud models, cloud storage models, cloud security controls.
- Design and implement a secured network infrastructure and edge security for an application hosted on cloud.
- Design and implement a scalable authentication and authorization system to access cloud resources.
- Apply fundamental concepts in the building blocks of DevOps within the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) phases.
Who should attend?
IT personnel with a foundational knowledge in cloud computing who has interest in fundamentals of DevOps and learn concepts of both technological and non-technological threats and risks, and adopt mitigation measures to reduce threats and risks in a cloud environment.
This module will identify both technological and non-technological security threats and risks, and adopt mitigation measures to reduce the threats and risks in the cloud environment. Legal responsibilities based on business compliancy and industry regulations will be discussed. It also covers the fundamental concepts of the emerging culture in IT applications development that are integrated into cloud infrastructure.
Cloud Security and DevOps is a module selected from the Specialist Diploma in Cloud Architecting and Management. It enables participants to acquire new skills or deepen relevant skills without the need to pursue a full specialist diploma. As this is a stackable course, participants may choose to complete the remaining modules within the validity period, of 2 years, to be awarded the full Specialist Diploma qualification
Entry Requirements
Applicants should possess a relevant (Information Technology or Computer Science) local polytechnic Diploma, ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Study Technical Diploma or Degree.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least five years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
Conditional Offer
Graduating students (in final semester) from a local polytechnic or Institute of Technical Education (ITE) may apply for the programme.

- The prior qualification/ certification must have been obtained no more than 4 years before the course commencement.
- Applicants who wish to apply for Module Exemption and/or Module Credit & Grade Transfer are to do so after being accepted into the course, but before the course commencement. You can do so at the STEP student portal under the “Request & Task” menu. All Module Exemption/ Module Credit & Grade Transfer applications are subject to RP’s review and approval.
- Applicants with qualification/certification other than those stated above but have relevant prior learning may also submit Module Exemption/ Module Credit & Grade Transfer applications for RP’s review and approval.
