In this 2-day course, participants will be equipped with knowledge on lifespan and moral development stages of youth, motivational issues, as well as the impacts on their goal achievement. With motivational and interviewing techniques and mentoring and coaching processes, course participants will learn how to guide, mentor, and coach youth to enhance their holistic development.
The programme’s coverage includes a myriad of coaching and mentoring conversation techniques and processes. Participants will also be introduced to the “GROW Model” and “GROWTH Mindset” to enhance their competency in guiding, mentoring and coaching youth towards holistic self-development. The experiential train-the-trainer approach will help participants learn and apply the “GROWTH Mindset” in their coaching and mentoring journey.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Apply coaching and mentoring approach based on the “GROW model” in mentoring learners and youths.
- Apply the tools for engaging youths in conversations and mentoring sessions using the “Growth Mindset”.
- Apply the principles of coaching and mentoring in seven common scenarios that mentors can promote “Growth Mindset” to reframe negative thinking.
