Fundamentals of Data Visualisation (using Tableau)

Data is useful but to the untrained eye, it can be meaningless. This course will teach you how to compose your data into striking visualisations and draw compelling narratives from it. 

With the help of Tableau, an industry-standard data visualisation software, you will learn to create compelling presentations and share insights using real-world data.
Pick up the fundamentals of data visualisation and discover how to present them effectively to your target audience. 

Laptops will be provided for the duration of the course.

 Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe data, information and visualisation
  • Identify the human perception to visualisation
  • Interpret the levels of visualisation
  • Critique samples of visualisation
  • Examine factors of graphical excellence

Data analysts, managers, professionals, executives and support staff involved in data collection, preparation and presentation for analysis and decision-making.

Entry Requirement 

Basic IT literacy, with a keen interest in data analysis and presentation

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
