Harness the power of data to gain perspectives you never thought available. This course will provide participants with a good foundation to conduct data wrangling, perform data analysis, create effective visualisation charts, build interactive dashboards and compose convincing data-driven stories using Microsoft Excel (Power Query, PivotTables and PivotCharts) and Tableau/Power BI to support data-driven business decisions. Tableau and Power BI will be used as the visualisation tools on alternate runs.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply data cleansing and data transformation techniques using Power Query, a free function within Microsoft Excel
- Apply mathematical and statistical functions for deriving insights from data
- Create PivotTables and PivotCharts to calculate, summarise, analyse, and visualise data
- Apply visualisation principles for creating effective visualisations
- Create and interpret visualisation charts
- Build interactive dashboards for monitoring key metrics
- Create data-driven stories for communicating key insights

Certification
Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
For courses with assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
Trainer's Profile
Sim Biow Ee graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from University Science of Malaysia. She has 11 years of software development and project management experience in the finance, manufacturing and education sectors before joining RP in 2010. At RP she has developed and/or delivered courses for Data Wrangling, Data Visualisation, Business Intelligence and Software Development.

Lee Yow Jinn is a Senior Lecturer at School of Infocomm, Republic Polytechnic. Formally a Deputy Director with Republic Polytechnic in the Office of Organization & Service Excellence.
He has over 20 years of experience in the public sectors include Post Office Savings Bank (now DBS Bank), Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS). Projects he has completed include branch automation, process automation, Automated Machine (ATM) deployment, banking system enhancement, electronic payment system and e-commerce development.
He has conducted corporate training for the likes of MHA, Govtech and SFA.
Grace Yap holds a Master of Business in IT and has more than 20 years of experience in IT consultancy and project management, customer relationship and marketing management for companies in the region. Grace is the course designer and trainer for Power BI data analytics continuing education courses.
Toh Kee Heng interest and specialisation area is in business and systems analysis. He had many years of experience in business process improvement initiatives and digital transformation projects. Kee Heng possess a Master of Science degree in Communication and Network Systems and is a course designer and trainer for Power BI data analytics continuing education courses.
