The Art of Food Photography

Food photography is an art in itself. Do you wish to create delectable food pictures that you will be proud to share on your social media accounts? Perhaps you wish to help out a friend who is starting a café as his next business adventure?

Join us to develop your skills in creating professional-looking food pictures and enrich your photo taking experiences. In this two-day course, you will discover the intricacies of preparing food to look good before they face the camera. You will also find out more about the technicalities of lighting and camera lenses that will bring out the best look of your food. In addition, you will learn how to use post-processing tools to apply finishing touches to make your photos truly scrumptious.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply the principles of food arrangement to prepare food for photo taking.
  2. Employ lighting equipment, flash lighting and natural lighting to achieve optimal results for food photography.
  3. Manipulate camera lenses to achieve optimal results for food photography.
  4. Utilise digital post-processing tools to enhance photographs.
  5. Conceptualise photographic themes that meet requirements of clients.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for DSLR and mirrorless users who are beginners or wish to deepen skills in photography and post-processing.

Entry Requirement

Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras and equipment. Post-processing and editing tools will be provided for this course.

Certificate of Attendance awarded by Academy of Continuing Education, Republic Polytechnic.
