Warehouse Management and Operations is a module selected from the Specialist Diploma in Supply Chain Management. It enables participants to acquire new skills or deepen relevant skills without the need to pursue a full specialist diploma. As this is a stackable course, participants may choose to complete the remaining modules within the validity period, of two years, to be awarded the full Specialist Diploma qualification.
This module covers the principles of warehouse operations and its importance in supply chain management. Participants’ learning will focus on warehouse planning and processes, material handling system selection, as well as labour and cost requirements.
On top of that, the module looks into the latest technology and development used for warehouse operations. Participants will also get to learn how to manage warehouse and distribution operations with benchmarking tools.

Describe the needs and functions of a distribution centre

Outline the information and material flow in a warehouse; leading to order fulfilment

Examine how technology and automation can be deployed for warehouse operations

Analyse and recommend warehouse key performance indicators, and conduct performance gap analysis

Develop steps for a warehouse process improvement study
Entry Requirement
Applicants should possess a relevant polytechnic diploma or degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or Science from recognised institutions.
For applicants who do not meet the minimum entry requirements, an interview will be conducted to assess applicants’ qualification and working experience.
Certification
Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Completion by Republic Polytechnic upon completing the module.
