A total of 20 students from the School of Management and Communication (SMC) joined volunteers from the Youth Entrepreneurship & Co-op Interest Group and their peers from various polytechnics for the Feed9Billion Sustainable Feed Camp 2023, held on 15 and 16 April 2023 at The Gillman Barrack. Organised by Innovate 360 and Feed9B, the two-day event aimed to promote agrifood sustainability and innovation.

The student participants got to develop their pitching, event management, and networking skills. Based on the pitches developed, three winnings teams were identified. SMC students Tong Pao En Sacha and Mirza Rusyaidi Bin Juraimi @ Zhi Wei were members of the team that won first and third place, respectively. Another student from the School of Hospitality, Avianna Pau was part of the team that won second place.

Through the event, our students had the chance to network with industry professionals; allowing them to better understand the importance of sustainability and innovation within the agrifood sector. Ng Shao Wei, a student from the School of Applied Science, even secured a short-term employment with a start-up while waiting for his enlistment.
