Digital Business Challenge

The Digital Business Challenge (DBC), previously known as National Pushcart Challenge, is a marquee event of School of Management and Communication, Republic Polytechnic. DBC is a nationwide inter-secondary school competition that seeks to showcase the brightest ideas and celebrate the spirit of enterprise among youths in Singapore. Over the past 11 years, the competition has garnered participation of over 1600 students from more than 80 secondary schools, equipping them with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset. DBC has raised over $120,000 to date in support of local causes.

Participants will attend a workshop where they will be equipped with design thinking, digital marketing and e-commerce tools, to showcase their best marketing and business ideas on a digital retail platform. Schools are then paired with Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs) and social enterprises such as Singapore Associate of Mental Health (SAMH) and Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) to support their causes. Armed with the newly equipped knowledge, participants will identify the needs and propose innovative business ideas while leveraging on smart technology. The grand finale of the competition will see participants execute their ideas and plans in a real-life retail setting
