School of Management & Communication lecturer Joshua Yeo is passionate about preparing his students for the workforce. To help them gain valuable real-life experience, the Diploma in Consumer Behaviour & Research (DCBR) Programme Chair actively looks for industry collaborations and student internship opportunities.

Joshua also weaves in real-world challenges into curriculum content to help it retain its industry-focus. One curriculum project that he facilitated is for the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE) involves his students studying the public’s perception of the social enterprise sector.

On top of regularly reviewing the curriculum, Joshua often spends extra hours coaching and mentoring his students. He also reaches out to secondary schools to help inspire the next generation of community-minded entrepreneurs.

Thus it is no surprise that he was amongst the finalists for this year’s President’s Award for Teachers, which recognises excellent and passionate educators for their role in moulding the future of Singapore. Congratulations Joshua! Keep up the good work.
