Corporate Governance for Non-Profit Organisations

Course Synopsis 

The module Corporate Governance and Ethics gives participants a background to the corporate governance and ethics framework of companies and businesses. Adopting a multi-disciplinary perspective, it analyses the broad structure framework of business entities and social enterprises. In addition it will also introduce participants to the implementation of necessary internal control systems for social enterprises and non-profit organizations to ensure conformance to ethical guidelines. Discussions will focus on using real life examples of corporate governance practices and issues in ethics so that the learning is grounded in practice. Such focus will include use of media articles, commentaries and case studies of some of the most notable examples. The sessions are planned such that it reflects the life-cycle of an organisation. 

Certification 

Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 80% of attendance requirement.
