Designing interactivity with Electronic Kits

Always wanted to automate simple task in your home?

This two-day course introduces participants to building Internet of Things (IoT) solutions using micro-controllers, and sensors. Using the Raspberry Pi platform with Grove Pi+ microcontroller and sensor, participants will be able to create simple prototypes of smart home devices.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Infuse existing technology in the design of everyday things

  • Identify features of sensors, micro-controllers and actuators

  • Prototype design ideas with Grove Pi + Raspberry PI using basic programming language

Who should attend?

Budding home automation, electronics hobbyist or individuals who are keen to create smart home devices.

Entry Requirement

Basic IT literacy, with a good understanding and interest in use of smart technologies.


Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 80% of the attendance.
