Eco Ambassador Starter

The Eco Ambassador starter programme will expose participants to the foundational training for environmental sustainability and managing environmental sustainability-related projects. They will learn various assessment tools to quantify their companies' carbon footprint, mindset for designing for a circular economy and project management tools to help their companies become more environmentally sustainable.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the science of climate change and fundamentals of sustainability, circular economy, sustainable development goals, and sustainability reporting based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards 

  • Develop skills in scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gases accounting

  • Develop mindset needed for design thinking for a circular economy

  • Develop skills in project management 

Modules

Introduction to sustainability and sustainability reporting


Participants will be introduced to fundamentals of sustainability, circular economy, climate change, sustainable development goals, and sustainability reporting based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. Topics covered include theories and principles of communication to ensure participants can effectively convey sustainability messages and ideas within and outside the organisation.

Climate change and greenhouse gases accounting


Participants will be introduced to corporate-level greenhouse gas accounting based on GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, emphasising scope 1 and scope 2 emissions calculations.

Sustainable Product Design and Innovation


Participants will be introduced to the concepts of design thinking and designing for a circular economy.  

Implementing eco projects

Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of green project management via case studies and discussions. Topics covered include triple constraints, risks management of projects, project management tools, and techniques such as stakeholder influence-impact matrix, work breakdown structure (WBS), and project scheduling.

Professionals and consultants who are interested to understand good environmental practices and approaches for the development of green and sustainable operations and processes.

Certification

Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 80% of the attendance requirement.
