Facilitating a Community of Practice (COP)

The objectives of this workshop is to provide participants with working knowledge on what a community of practice is, its benefits and how to start a COP in the organisation. During the online workshop, participants will learn good practices of facilitating a COP and the potential challenges in starting and sustaining a COP using the POPCORN framework. In addition, participants will learn briefly about the different online platforms to run and sustain a COP.

Learning Objectives

By end of this workshop, participants will be able to
  • Explain how COPs are different from other communities such as social network and project team
  • Explain the benefits of CoPs for participants and the organisation
  • Identify the key actions that the facilitator can undertake to encourage sharing in online and offline CoPs and overcome challenges faced

Who should attend?

  • Class leader, Teachers, Trainers, Instructors, Facilitators, Academic Leaders, Heads of Departments, and Learning and Development (L&D) Managers from Educational and Training Institutions

Entry Requirement

This workshop is suitable for educators and trainers. No prior knowledge is required.

Certification

Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 75% of attendance requirement.
