Introduction to Cleanroom and Basic Equipment for Micro-fab Process

Cleanroom is a controlled environment with a low level of pollutants such as dust, airborne microbes, aerosol particles, and chemical vapours. They are contained spaces where electronic hardware/gadgets are manufactured. 

This courses focuses on cleanroom architecture, garments, and the importance of cleanroom safety and protocol. The basic equipment for micro-fab processes will be also introduced.  

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • explain why cleanroom is required for wafer fabrication and IC packaging
  • define the class and structure of cleanroom
  • practice cleanroom gowning and de-gowning
  • understand the basic equipment tools for micro-fab processes used inside SEG cleanroom
