About the course

The demand for healthcare and eldercare services is set to grow due to the rapidly ageing population. Retail pharmacies will play increasingly important roles to promote preventative healthcare, and continuing care at home and in the community. In order to make sure the retail pharmacies are sustainable, the retail personnel will also need to manage the operations and business in addition to providing healthcare advice.

Through this course, participants will gain an overview to the challenges of managing the pharmaceutical products with short shelf lives and solutions provided by the inventory management systems. Participants will be able to apply tactics used in retail pharmacies and hospital pharmacies to manage the inventory using digital tools to reduce revenue loss due to expiration.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Gain a good understanding of the fundamentals in maintaining inventory, which includes performing inventory calculations, as well as evaluating and applying related policies and procedures in maintaining inventory.
• Apply key concepts and considerations to manage pharmaceutical inventory, which includes conducting inventory audit, understanding related expectations, ensuring proper record keeping and regulatory compliance, and employ appropriate digital tools to aid in the process 

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with formal assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
