Travel and Learn Programme – Yangon, Myanmar

Mingalabar! Myanmar is often referred to as “Asia’s final frontier” due to the largely untapped potential of its economy. Join us on a business learning journey to Yangon, the commercial capital of Myanmar, as we attempt to demystify Myanmar and give you a taster of its vast potential.

After an initial preparation session in Singapore, you will journey to Yangon. Where you will network and learn from established Singaporean businesses in Yangon, visit the Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and learn about the start-up environment in the city. 

Gain insights into Myanmar’s growth industries and witness its digitalisation journey!

Programme Outline 

Day 1: Preparation in Singapore 

  • Overview of 4D3N programme in Yangon, Myanmar
  • Overseas Market Entry Strategies
  • Financing and Funding for overseas growth
  • Planning for a sustainable business – ‘Critical Success Factors & the Triple Bottom Line’

Day 2: Doing Business in Myanmar

  • Depart Singapore for Yangon
  • Business dialogue and networking session with Business Leaders and Officials, at the Yangon Technological University (YTU)
  • Appreciation of Myanmar’s human capital, culture and operating environment 

Day 3: Doing Business in Myanmar

  • Understanding business environment: Session with Denton’s Rodyk, Myanmar
  • Visit to Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which has been set up to provide its investors with a streamlined and easy investment and operation process

Day 4: Industry Visits

  • Visit to businesses that have successfully established themselves in Myanmar
  • Visit Phandeeyar: Myanmar Innovation Lab to get a sneek peek into Myanmar’s start-up culture

 Day 5: Departure

  • Depart from Yangon to Singapore


Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 75% of attendance requirement.
