Understanding Nature and Wildlife in Singapore

Love the nature and the outdoors? 

Focusing on the ecological and biological concepts, this course will introduce participants to the “nature places” of Singapore, including nature reserves and parks. Participants will understand the interconnectivity between habitats, and gain basic knowledge of local flora and fauna, as well as their conservation status.

During this course, participants will use our nature reserves as an outdoor classroom.  

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • Identify common flora and fauna in Singapore and understand their ecology.
  • Understand the interconnectivity of biological communities, human impact and conservation efforts in Singapore.

Who should attend?

Outdoor educators and trainers, PE teachers, science, geography and biology teachers (primary and secondary), pre-school teachers and people bringing youth and children into the outdoors.


Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 80% of the attendance requirement.
