A total of 270 student volunteers and lecturers from Republic Polytechnic’s Common Business Programme (CBP) organised the interschool Financial Literacy for Youths (FLY) Challenge with the aim of promoting financial awareness among secondary school students in Singapore. The event, which took place on 8 July 2023, was a success. More than 200 participants took part and learnt from the initiative.

The annual FLY Challenge serves as one of the flagship events of our CBP students. This year, the FLY Challenge is taken on as a Service Learning Programme for our students to develop their character while contributing to the community.

Participants were guided by CBP students from the School of Management and Communication as they engaged in a series of financial literacy games and quizzes. Through the FLY Challenge, secondary school students were imparted with lessons on basic money management, financial goals, budgeting, and the importance of insurance.

Apart from its focus on financial literacy, FLY challenge presented participants with the opportunity to explore RP’s campus, while interacting with students and lecturers.
