Class A Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) for Helicopter (Refresher Training with Assessment)

Are you planning to renew your existing Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Class A Rotorcraft Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL) for helicopter? Approved by the CAAS, this one-day course includes a refresher training to adequately prepare you prior to a Class A Rotorcraft (Helicopter) assessment with our Authorised Flight Examiners (AFEs).

Participants will be taught by CAAS approved instructors/AFEs who are existing UAPL holders with at least five years of teaching and Unmanned Aircraft (UA) experience.

CAAS UAPL Requirements

Participants are strongly encouraged to complete a training programme with any CAAS-approved UA Training and Assessment Organisation (UATO) to acquire the relevant practical knowledge before attempting the practical assessment.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be well-equipped to demonstrate their competencies for helicopter UA in preparation for CAAS Class A Rotorcraft (Helicopter) in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge on operating UA system

  2. Pre-flight and post-flight checks of the UA, with reference to the Original Equipment Manufacturer documents and training manuals

  3. Smooth and controlled flying of the following manoeuvres without Global Positioning System assistance:

    • Precision hovering at different orientations

    • Straight and level circuits

    • Precision landing

Who Should Attend?

Existing Class A Rotorcraft UAPL holders with no limitations planning to renew their UAPL.

Entry Requirement

Participants are expected to have a good command of the English language, and be at least 16 years old at the point of application, with an existing CAAS Class A Rotorcraft (Helicopter) UAPL.

Certification

Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Completion by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting 80% of the attendance requirement.

Class A Rotorcraft (Helicopter) assessment results will be submitted to CAAS for all successful participants at the end of the course.
