Eco Hospitality Environment and Sustainability Series - Green Design Thinking

The new era of Design Thinking for sustainability relies on observing, with empathy, how people interact with their environments, and employs an iterative, hands-on approach to create innovative sustainable solutions.

The workflow develops progressive design thinking processes to enable the industry to respond to customers effectively and efficiently. The course will provide you with insights into how Design Thinking can optimise teams and operations using the dynamic sustainable workflows that you have created.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the need to contribute to design with ideas for a sustainable future
  • Learn how to use the thinking process to effective tools for outcomes with sustainable costs and strategies
  • Understand the process of turning complex problems into simple solutions through design thinking

Who Should Attend?

Managers, executives and support staff in management or operations functions.

 

Entry Requirement 

Participants should be proficient in English and possess basic Microsoft Excel as well as internet research skills. 

Certification

Participants will be awarded the Certificate of Attendance by Republic Polytechnic upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

Trainer's Profile

Jason Yap is an avid technology enthusiast. He comes from a transmedia background ranging from traditional, digital and games design. Before joining RP, he was the Head of Marketing in a local corporate travel agency working on MICE and Incentive Travel for 4 years. Prior to his agency work, he was a game studio co-founder and spent 11 years in games development and mentoring local game start-ups. He spent 7 years in Mediacorp Radio as a multimedia director and was involved in projects like Subaru Car Challenge and Movies In the Park. Jason has also conducted transmedia gamification for education courses overseas.
