This module offers an overview of the pollution problems that occur in our environment and their impact to humans and the ecosystem. Key concepts in pollution science such as environmental chemistry, transport pathway, dispersion modelling, preventive measures and local and international regulatory laws will be covered. Students will also learn about the technology used in wastewater treatment and contaminated soil remediation, as well as nature-based solutions. Lab sessions and field trips will be included to allow students to have a better appreciation of the concepts learnt.
