Students will gain knowledge and skillsets to develop electronics projects, spanning from initial front-end prototyping to the fruition of the product and system. The front-end work involves various prototyping platforms such as soldering and wire-wrapping, to set up the circuit and usage of general laboratory equipment and to eventually test and verify the circuit performance. This module also covers details of electronics prototyping to system level assembly. This can involve a combination of microcontroller platform with external circuitry. Realisation of the product will begin with the design of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) artwork using computer-aided design (CAD) tools before actual assembly with components and other sub-systems.
