This module introduces students to the fundamentals of airside operations and air traffic management. In the airside operations component, students learn about the key features of an aerodrome and gain an understanding of activities such as ground handling, emergency services, wildlife management, and marshalling. In the air traffic management component, students explore airspace classifications, air traffic control operations, radio communication procedures, and the principles of ground, holding, approach, and departure management. Learning is reinforced through aerodrome and flight simulations using the Virtual Reality (VR) Aerodrome RTF Trainer, enabling students to apply their knowledge and understand how the various components of airside operations and air traffic management integrate in real-world scenarios.
