This module examines the principles of human motor development and control across the lifespan. Students will learn to assess and analyse motor behaviour using standardised evaluation tools to identify developmental stages, strengths, and movement challenges. The module explores how physiological, psychological, and environmental factors influence motor performance and learning. Students will design interventions that enhance motor competence, coordination, and functional performance for different populations. By integrating theory with practice, students gain the ability to apply motor-development frameworks to support skill acquisition, movement analysis, and performance improvement in sport, physical activity, and rehabilitation settings.
